We have had a great week in Nashville. We are about 2 weeks away from adjourning for the year. We should have the budget
passed by next week which is our only constitutional requirement on the General Assembly.
I passed my first bill on the house floor for the session this week. It was a bill that helps support the Megasite of West Tennessee as
it continues to get ready to open for operations. All West Tennessee communities will see positive impacts from the Megasite as it
moves along. My Child Exploitation bill passed another committee and will be on the house floor next week.

We are closing in on the end of session. I was able to close out my Health Subcommittee this week and do believe we passed some
great things that will benefit rural Tennesseans when it comes to our health. One of the more impactful bills that moved out of our
committee was addressing Certificate of Need (CON) repeal. This will allow more competition within hospitals and outpatient clinics.
By allowing the free market more opportunities, costs will decrease and we should see better quality of care overall.
Over the next 3 weeks we will see another 200+ bills move through the committee process. I have 7 still active and hope to have a
few make it to the house floor during this period.

It was a very hectic but productive week in Nashville. I was able to pass seven bills on through the committee process this week
including my biomarker bill, ambulance reimbursement and the “Protect Children from Child Exploitation Act”. The Protect
Children from Child Exploitation Act closes a loophole in the legal system where currently Electronic Service Providers can tip off
individuals who have a subpoena against their phones. When these folks get tipped off, they often delete all history which is
where the evidence is saved. By closing this loophole, we will be able to prosecute the individuals faster and help protect the
children from these predators. It will be up next in the Judicial Committee

We are at the half-way point of session with the goal of being out by Easter. You can expect a lot of good bills still to
come out of the committee process over the next month. My bill on Biomarker coverage, which will help diagnose cancer
faster and get proper treatment quicker for Tennesseans, passed its first huddle this week in committee.

A busy and blessed week in Nashville has come to an end. My first bill of the year was passed Monday night on the house
floor. The “Make Tennessee Healthy Again” Act will be the blueprint for Tennesseans to live a more healthy and happy
life. I look forward to working with my fellow colleagues to make sure we are creating policy that aligns with the Act
moving forward.

It has been a challenging week in HD 79. Krista and I are remembering all the storm victims in our prayers. I am thankful for Mayor
Cunningham, Mr. Ricky Graves, and TEMA for keeping me in the loop on the storms throughout the area. We were very blessed as
it could have been much worse, but know several lost a lot! We will work with TEMA to help address the needs of our citizens.
